Description Davide Pesavento gentoo-dev 2014-11-13 23:56:14 UTC
Please keyword >=dev-qt/qtchooser-0_p20140613 ASAP.

This is a new mandatory dependency since Qt 4.8.6, needed both for multilib support and for proper co-installability with Qt5. It should get at least the same KEYWORDS as dev-qt/qtcore:4. Missing keywords will eventually be dropped from qt and all reverse deps.

This is a very simple package, I'm not expecting any arch-specific issues. Note that the included test suite unfortunately requires qt5, therefore you will have to unmask dev-qt/qtcore:5, dev-qt/qttest:5, the 'qt5' USE flag, and enable the same flag in qtchooser in order to actually build and run the tests.
Comment 1 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-11-14 12:32:29 UTC
RDEPEND="!<dev-qt/qtcore-4.8.6:4" fails to resolve to an installable package. I.e. without the qt overlay, it just will not work.

Obviously the above implies keywording qtcore:5 and qttest:5 as well, which is not a bad idea anyway. If you want a separate keywording bug for that, let me know.

Of course there's always the alternative of ignoring unit tests and masking USE=test on your arch.

Well, if you uninstall qt4 that dependency will be satisfied. Otherwise just wait a few hours, I'm going to move qt 4.8.6 to the tree very soon.

I guess if I uninstall Qt 4 then qtchooser will have nothing to choose.

The test suite doesn't rely on any qt version being installed.
Anyway, Qt 4.8.6 is in tree now.
Comment 6 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-11-17 20:26:56 UTC
Marked ~hppa.
Comment 7 Michał Górny archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2014-11-22 23:30:05 UTC
I've dropped ~amd64-fbsd on net-dns/avahi because of this. When Qt4 gets this keyword back, please add it to avahi as well :).
Comment 8 Sergey Popov gentoo-dev 2014-12-22 12:34:29 UTC
~mips added

Packages is already keyworded on ~x86, removing them from CC
Comment 9 Markus Meier gentoo-dev 2014-12-30 17:42:38 UTC
~arm added
Comment 10 Sergey Popov gentoo-dev 2015-01-22 07:41:38 UTC
~ppc and ~ppc64 added
Comment 11 Ben de Groot (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2015-04-05 04:47:40 UTC
It seems that alpha, ia64 and sparc do no longer wish to be considered as stable arches. We're well over the 90 days mark.

Please take this to the ml. If we're going to destabilize the profiles, we should all know that's happening.
Comment 13 Tobias Klausmann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2015-07-05 13:37:19 UTC
Stable on alpha.
Comment 14 Mikle Kolyada (RETIRED) archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2015-08-05 08:51:42 UTC
ia64: commited straight to stable, using my qa hat. Don't want to wait another month to stabilize qt due to qtchooser.
Comment 15 Davide Pesavento gentoo-dev 2015-08-24 13:21:41 UTC
@sparc/bsd/prefix, is there any hope?
Comment 16 Mikle Kolyada (RETIRED) archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2015-08-24 14:14:41 UTC
I've commited sparc straight to stable
Comment 17 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2015-08-24 14:15:42 UTC
No hope for prefix, feel free to drop keywords
Comment 18 Davide Pesavento gentoo-dev 2015-10-02 19:24:02 UTC
@bsd, anyone alive?
Comment 19 Chí-Thanh Christopher Nguyễn gentoo-dev 2015-10-06 16:42:10 UTC
keyworded ~amd64-bsd

Please add ~x86-fbsd KEYWORDS to dev-qt/qtchooser-0_p20150102.

I was tested the following steps.

# echo 'dev-qt/qtcore **' >> /etc/portage/package.keywords/qt
# echo 'dev-qt/qttest **' >> /etc/portage/package.keywords/qt
# echo 'dev-qt/qtchooser **' >> /etc/portage/package.keywords/qt
# FEATURES=test USE="qt5" emerge dev-qt/qtchooser
