Currently mod_python ebuild "needs" apache 2.2 but it works just fine with 2.4 as well and even according to documents apache 2.4 is prefered. Also currently it installs module config in to / and not in to modules config directory.

* Configuration file installed as
 *     /16_mod_python.conf
 * You may want to edit it before turning the module on in /etc/conf.d/apache2
