dd_rhelp is a bash script that makes using dd_rescue much easier and less time consuming Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 32299 [details] dd_rhelp-0.0.4.ebuild dd_rhelp needs the latest version of dd_rescue to work correctly. From the dd_rescue page: "The current version is 1.03. The latest version includes a patch from LAB Valentin which is needed to properly support his script from his dd_rescue page." http://www.kalysto.ath.cx/utilities/dd_rhelp/index.en.html
This can be copied as is to dd_rhelp-0.0.5.ebuild, except it should be ~KEYWORD masked as long as dd-rescue-1.03 is. There is even a Link on the Homepage for 0.0.6, but so far it is dead.
Created attachment 42620 [details] dd_rhelp-0.0.6.ebuild Version 0.0.6 is available. Since dd-rescue-1.10 is the only one left in portage and is marked stable dd_rhelp should work just fine.

Created attachment 100942 [details] dd_rhelp-0.0.6.ebuild Frankly, I don't know whether this belongs in a different bug, but in addition to cleaning up the ebuild a bit, I added a sed command to change the way "tail" is called in the main script. Previously, it generated errors due to deprecated syntax. ("tail +2" used to be acceptable, now must be "tail -n +2".)
(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy.
