Due to a regression in upstream curl version 7.38.0, XBMC (any version incl. the ones in portage) will not download or scrape any content. It was fixed a few days ago with a patch and will get in next curl version. This bug may affect other applications too but most evident is with any XBMC version. More info can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/p/curl/bugs/1426/ https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=762014 https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/42001 Meanwhile it is good if we can add the patch to portage net-misc/curl-7.38.0 I will upload the patch, but the original URL where one can see it is: http://sourceforge.net/p/curl/bugs/1426/?limit=10&page=1#092a The patch works ok on amd64 and fixes XBMC. Thanks Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open XBMC 2. Go to Addons updates for example and try to update any plugin Actual Results: It cannot be updated. More functionalities concerning XBMC ability to remote scrape for tv/movie database updates etc are broken too
