Description Vikraman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-09-19 01:08:50 UTC
Simply renaming the ebuild works. The latest release is 0.8.1. It might also be useful to keep the 0.6.2 version, which is the version in CoreOS stable.

Hey Vikraman,

I've been working on updating fleet in my overlay with another fleet user, steveeJ. I'll get 0.8.1 added to the tree by this next Wednesday (hopefully, along with a slew of other CoreOS ebuilds).

Feel free to chime in on the pull request here: https://github.com/alunduil/alunduil-overlay/pull/10

Thanks

Simply renaming the ebuild will not result in a working setup because of a name change of the daemon binary (fleetd -> fleetd). For details please see the pull request that was referenced by Alex.

The pull request now includes an ebuild for v0.8.1.

I just saw that a typo in my comment. The rename that actually happened is fleet -> fleetd.

Thanks, I did not notice this since I was just interested in fleetctl.
Comment 5 Alex Brandt (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-10-26 15:51:36 UTC
Hey Vikraman,

Would you have a chance to verify that the version of fleet sitting in the master branch of my overlay works for your purposes? Need some validation that the versioned and live ebuilds for fleet I have there are sane enough. Once you've tested it please update the status of this issue back to in progress and I'll get the ebuilds for fleet updated in the tree.
Comment 6 Vikraman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-10-26 16:18:57 UTC
Yep, both the 0.8.3 and live versions work fine for me.
Comment 7 Alex Brandt (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-11-01 20:36:57 UTC
Added this version to the tree. Marking this resolved.
