The router advertisement daemon (radvd) is needed to take advantage of IPv6 stateless autoconfiguration when using Linux as a IPv6 router. You can find out more about it at it's homepage: http://v6web.litech.org/radvd/ Please find the attached radvd.tar.gz which includes: radvd/ChangeLog radvd/radvd-0.7.1.ebuild radvd/files/radvd radvd/files/digest-radvd-0.7.1
Created attachment 2365 [details] All files required to add radvd to the portagetree this tar.gz archive includes: radvd/radvd-0.7.1.ebuild radvd/ChangeLog radvd/files/radvd (the init script) radvd/files/digest-radvd-0.7.1.ebuild
I'm not quite sure what category to put it in, but would recommend net-misc .. :)
Created attachment 2377 [details] All files required to add radvd to the portagetree Fixed the radvd file (minor error), still contains everything you need to add it to the portagetree. This obsoletes attachtment #2365 !! drwxr-xr-x root/root radvd/ -rw-r--r-- root/root radvd/radvd-0.7.1.ebuild drwxr-xr-x root/root radvd/files/ -rw-r--r-- root/root radvd/files/radvd -rw-r--r-- root/root radvd/files/digest-radvd-0.7.1 -rw-r--r-- root/root radvd/ChangeLog
Holding on this one because I believe that current Gentoo policy is that ebuilds need to have copyright assigned to Gentoo Technologies, Inc. (along with a "Distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License V2" notice). I cleaned up or moved a few things, so I'll upload my version
Created attachment 2530 [details] radvd-0.7.1.ebuild Moved pkg_setup() stuff to pkg_preinst(). Added a LICENSE.
Tossing back into the pool while I'm away.
Created attachment 2902 [details] radvd-0.7.1.ebuild Adds KEYWORDS (it should work on all platforms where IPv6 implementation works seemlessly, ie. all) and changes copyright to be correct so that the ebuild can be added, .. (ugh) .. It should be ready to be added, I have tested it on quite a lot of machines and only trouble I have is with kernels that protect /proc (which means you have to give it access to it, but this is very easily detected by looking in syslog / messages which you should be doing..) To add radvd to portage, you have to have both this attachment and 2377, this obsoletes 2530.
tested, works great (on x86). is there a problem if we remove the written by header from the ebuild? authors of ebuilds are normally mentioned in the ChangeLog.
Not for me, if it is added to the ChangeLog.. maybe I'll submit some more IPv6 related stuff .. hope it doesn't get forgotten as all the things I have submitted or contributed to (except for one mini patch).. -- Asbj

ebuild submitted (in category net-misc). would be nice to have more ipv6 related stuff (feel free to assign it directly to me).
