Without any extra work, the applet just shows Error loading QML file: file:///usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.ktp-contactlist/contents/ui/mail.qml:22:1: module "org.kde.telepathy" is not installed. This goes away when I install the KF5 version of ktp-common internals - unfortunately that version collides with the KDE4 version and is incompatible with KDE4 KTP components. And since not all KTP components have been updated to work with KF5, another way is needed. So I made a minmal ebuild. It deletes most of the files, really, so maybe there is a way that needs less compiling, but it works. Only problem is that it needs telepathy-qt with qt5 support and ktp-call-ui needs libtelepathy-qt4-farstream.so which seems to have been renamed to libtelepathy-farstream.so in git. It's possible though, that what's left of my KF5 ktp-common-internals, or the part that's needed by ktp-desktop-applets doesn't actually depend on telepathy-qt anymore. Reproducible: Always

Seems obsolete in the meantime.
