An update is available from updtream, please bump the version from 4.4 to 4.5.x Reproducible: Always
I tried to make paths match (I just updated them) but the patch seems to need an update, but I can't understand where.
Created attachment 375170 [details] Working ebuild for 4.5.2 Here is a proposed *working* ebuild for version 4.5.2
Created attachment 375172 [details, diff] A patch update for version 4.5.2 New patch for 4.5.2, the parallelmake patch used for versions up to 4.4 is no longer needed.
Is there anybody out there working on this version bump? Can someone at least test the new ebuild and the new patch in order to include them (keyworded) in the official gentoo tree? They work on a amd64 machine with gcc 4.7.3-r1 Thanks

Seems to working fine on ~amd64
But... When I tried to play a serious game it complains about "No UCI engine defined" or "Phalanx or Toga not found" when a tactical game.

scid is onto a 4.6 beta now and this version bump request is still "UNCONFIRMED" after five months?
don't attach the whole ebuild, but only a diff to the current ebuild unless it's a major rework without a common codebase
your ebuild still uses the deprecated python eclass, a no-go
install variables like destdir must be quoted in the Makefile. 'make' does _not_ take care of that, unless it's a variable assignment
uninstall rules were also partly broken I think we only need python during build time, if not, open a bug +*scid-4.5.2 (01 Sep 2014) + + 01 Sep 2014; Julian Ospald <hasufell@gentoo.org> +scid-4.5.2.ebuild, + +files/scid-4.5.2-gentoo.patch: + version bump wrt #506534, convert to python-any-r1
Thank you for caring. I'm not an expert at all in writing ebuilds, I just tried to modify the 4.4 one to make it work with version 4.5.2 and asked the community for testing. It could also be nice to have scid_vs_pc, a fork of the original scid, included in the portage tree. I opened a bug some time ago and I have a "working" ebuild on my local overlay.
