PS. Sometimes GCC somehow randomly segfaults while building other (not from Gentoo's portage) apps too: [code] /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.7.3/include/g++-v4/bits/stl_deque.h: In member function 'void std::deque<_Tp, _Alloc>::_M_insert_aux(std::deque<_Tp, _Alloc>::iterator, _ForwardIterator, _ForwardIterator, std::deque<_Tp, _Alloc>::size_type) [with _ForwardIterator = std::_Deque_iterator<LLKeyframeMotion::JointMotionList*, LLKeyframeMotion::JointMotionList* const&, LLKeyframeMotion::JointMotionList* const*>; _Tp = LLKeyframeMotion::JointMotionList*; _Alloc = std::allocator<LLKeyframeMotion::JointMotionList*>; std::deque<_Tp, _Alloc>::iterator = std::_Deque_iterator<LLKeyframeMotion::JointMotionList*, LLKeyframeMotion::JointMotionList*&, LLKeyframeMotion::JointMotionList**>; std::deque<_Tp, _Alloc>::size_type = long unsigned int]': /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.7.3/include/g++-v4/bits/stl_deque.h:393:13: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault ............................ /usr/include/boost/variant/detail/apply_visitor_unary.hpp:76:43: required from 'typename Visitor::result_type boost::apply_visitor(const Visitor&, Visitable&) [with Visitor = boost::signals2::detail::lock_weak_ptr_visitor; Visitable = const boost::variant<boost::weak_ptr<void>, boost::signals2::detail::foreign_void_weak_ptr>; typename Visitor::result_type = boost::variant<boost::shared_ptr<void>, boost::signals2::detail::foreign_void_shared_ptr>]' /usr/include/boost/signals2/slot_base.hpp:71:86: required from here /usr/include/boost/variant/variant.hpp:1804:5: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault [code]
This will probably go away when you set a lower "N" in MAKEOPTS=-jN.
(In reply to Jeroen Roovers from comment #3) > This will probably go away when you set a lower "N" in MAKEOPTS=-jN. I already tried in that direction: -j1 and no -pipe. But it segfaults anyway. But I'll try again right now like "MAKEOPTS=-j1 emerge thunderbird"

It was my 2-years old bug, it' resolved long ago.
