The following appears to happen after the initial chroot

* Caching service dependancies.../var/lib/init.d/depcache
/var/lib/init.d/depcache: no such file or directory

this is somewhat of a dup of a 48990 but the fix is that new stages need to be built with the fixed gawk.

let us *NOT* move bugs to a resolved stage until they truely are resolved...  this bug is ppc64 specific, therefore is my problem child to handle. Thanks

the april and later crop of stages with the fixed gawk fixed this issue
