Description Ioannis Aslanidis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-25 05:55:01 UTC
This is the second time this happes to me. It seems that after updating piwi, the filters files also get updated and, after emerging the new version, it asks you to run etc-update and so on.

If you run etc-update, it says that there are no files to update.

I did
#find /etc -depth -name ._cfg*
and it found 2 files that were the ones causing emerge to ask me for update.

So the first problem is that etc-update does not find such files.

There is also another small issue with that: emerge says that there are 5 config files that should be updated, when in fact there are only 2. After manually updating the files, emerge shows no more the request of files that need to be updated.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Update piwi from one version to another and have filters modified.
Actual Results:
etc-update is unable to find the files to be updated
and
emerge reports incorrectly the number of files to be updated.

Expected Results:
Obviously, it is expected that emerge reports the correct number of files
and
that etc-update finds those files.
