Hi, dear. I have two remote RDP connections to win2008r2 and old win2003sp2. Both has invisible text cursor and unreadable colors of text selection, but color schemes are default. Switching color depth in connection properties has no effect. Do you encounter the same issue with xfreerdp? Remmina is pretty much un-maintained at this point, so a fix is unlikely unless you can provide a patch.

9999 version of freerdp has true colors, but then I cannot build remmina-9999 because it has compatible problems with current version gtk that in portage tree. But freerdp-9999 and remmina-1.0.0_x cannot build at same time with dependencies conflict.
I don'n have ability to patch, but I ready to pay for fix this MAJOR issue for now. Because I have too many clients with workstations on my own Gentoo build where remmina and freerdp is major feature. Help me please. My e-mail is paramonov (a russia dot ru Money first, then work. I don't like it, because it is unsafe and expensive. I promote good solution, where we have one Windows Server for proprietary software and rest is linux solutions. What else may motivate Gentoo developers? Now I try to compile both 9999 and today all build ok, but it is on my home server. But when I connect to win2003 remmina is crashes with error "invalid offscreen bitmap at index: 0x0000". But xfreerdp works fine. If I connect to Win2008r2, both connects fine. xfreerdp has true colors now, but remmina has wrong. I made screenshot to show. Sorry for my broken English. Thanks.

The problems you are having with Remmina need to be addressed by an upstream developer at the Remmina project. Unfortunately, nobody is working on Remmina upstream. If Remmina is critical to your business, I suggest hiring a developer to work on it *upstream*. I would be happy to work with them in integrating any fixes into Gentoo. You may be able to reach interested developers via the FreeRDP mailing list I mentioned before, or in the #freerdp IRC channel on Freenode. Quite simply, you are asking for help in the wrong place.

Hi. I found a solution. It may be useful to someone. So. I compared sources of two versions and found nothing about colors. But I found that color of text selection is depends from gtk theme! If I change theme to another one, then selection color changes too. I think that it may be depend on canvas properties. If I run xfreerdp over xfce4-terminal I have true color, but remmina has their own canvas color.
Nice work figuring that out. Now that I have some idea to go on, I can poke around and try to fix it. Let's leave this open for a bit.
