Created attachment 340572 [details] wheel-9999.ebuild New live ebuild for wheel (yay, sane Python binary packaging!). I've also added this package to my `wtk` overlay, for anyone too impatient to wait until this gets into the main Portage tree. A dead ebuild should be a symlink away, but I haven't tested it.

Looking into the devmanual source, I see this requirement was brought in from the developer handbook by c97aec7 (Sync developer handbook and devmanual info on HOMEPAGE usage. HOMEPAGE should not use variables., 2007-05-30), but it's not clear to my *why* it shouldn't have variables. Presumably there's a script extracting HOMEPAGES that doesn't want to source the whole ebuild… In any case, I'll push an updated ebuild. I added an ebuild for this. Feel free to file further bugs if you think changes are warranted. I don't think we want a live ebuild, though, for now.
