I am copying a file from my Gentoo box to a Windows Server 2003 machine... Everything seems to go fine until (I think) the first file is done and the second is about to start. It freezes there. Samba seems to be dead in the water at this point. I can't cancel, or close the window. I'm running Samba 3.0.2a... I tried to stop and then start the service, but when I tried the stopping part, it wasn't running. So I started it. Still nothing is happening with those files being copied. http://rth.no-ip.ca:8888/samba.png smbclient //win2003server/share -U username works without issue, it seems to be only in Nautilus (v2.4.2) that the dialog box freezes and Samba appears to crash. See: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=970061 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Browse to AD server with Nautilus 2. Drag and drop file(s) 3. Dialog will not go away and Samba stops Actual Results: Nothing, it is hung in one form or another. Expected Results: The dialog box should have gone away once the copying was completed. I'm not sure if it's a configuration issue or not, but seeing as I can copy via the command line, it seems to be something with Nautilus.

how does this work with gnome-vfs-2.6 samba support ?
I'm unable to reproduce here due to not having a windows setup to work against, but please test with gnome 2.6 and the new and reworked samba support
