I get the following error:

Same here, but before I had to emerge SGMLSpm.
Comment 2 Steffen Lassahn 2002-07-04 02:13:46 UTC
To mee this looks like two seperate bugs. First the missing dependancy of
libieee on SGMLSpm (see comment #1) and then a bug in the actual package itself.
Comment 3 Seemant Kulleen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-04 02:29:52 UTC
well, actually there is something weird happening between docboox2X and
docbook-sgml-utils. It seems as though this error as pasted occurs when
docboox2x owns the sgml2blah binaries, instead of docbook-sgml-utils. Please
remerge docbook-sgml-utils and see what happens. As for the SGMLSpm dependency,
I am adding that into libieee1284 now.

Please report.

reemerged docbook-sgml-utils, but same error...

Comment 5 Julien Herran 2002-07-04 07:40:03 UTC
Upgrading to docbook-sgml-utils 0.6.11 fixed the problem.
As stated in the docbook-sgml-utils Changelog, support for SDATA like 'minus'
was added after the release of 0.6.9 which is the current version in the portage
tree.
The latest version of docbook-utils is at:
ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/docbook-tools/new-trials/SOURCES/
