Description Soren Hauberg 2004-03-15 01:20:28 UTC
I can't access the help files in gimp 2.0pre3.
When clicking on the help button I get an error saying that '/usr/share/gimp/1.3/help/gimp-help.xml' does not exist (and it doesn't).
I have version 2.0 of the gimp-user-manual installed.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. start the gimp
2. In the help menu, choose help
3.

Actual Results:
I get an error saying that '/usr/share/gimp/1.3/help/gimp-help.xml' does not exist

Expected Results:
started the help system

I concur. I see this as well.

Comment 2 David Grant 2004-03-18 14:16:09 UTC
I think gimp-help might be separate from gimp.

ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/help/testing/
http://wiki.gimp.org/gimp/GimpDocs
Comment 3 Soren Hauberg 2004-03-28 03:37:31 UTC
The help files are avaible at
ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/help/testing/gimp-help-2-0.2.tar.gz

to install one simply needs to download, then configure, make, make install.
Should this be part of the gimp ebuild or should it be a seperate ebuild?
Comment 4 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-28 07:06:52 UTC
help will be added to the gimp ebuild when it reaches stability.
Comment 5 Matteo Settenvini 2004-05-08 06:11:50 UTC
(REMIND :)
gimp2 is out from a while, now. so, what about fixing the ebuild?
btw, should a new bug be opened for that, or just reopening this will be ok?
I think that the "doc" USE flag should also build the help.
thanks!
Comment 6 Matteo Settenvini 2004-08-21 02:06:29 UTC
Resolution of this bug can now be changed to "resolved fixed" (for sure in Gimp 2.0.4).
Comment 7 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-21 15:24:35 UTC
so true.. just closing will suffice. tnx
