Description Marcos González 2004-03-11 13:16:45 UTC
When you hover the mouse cursor over an audio file, it starts playing. If you delete the file pressing "Supr" while the mouse is over the song doesn't stop playing and you have to kill mpg123 process by hand.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Hover the mouse over an audio file.
2. The song starts playing.
3. Press delete.
4. The file is deleted but it continues playing.

Actual Results:
I had to kill the mpg123 process by hand.

Expected Results:
The song should have stopped playing.

should be sent upstream probably. Try if the gstreamer backend displays the same problem (probably does). Always provide your 'emerge info'.

I have already enabled the gstreamer USE flag:

Sorry but what does upstream mean?

*bump*

Just checked and it seems upstream has since fixed this issue as I'm unable to produce any further. Reporter, can you confirm?
Comment 4 Marcos González 2005-04-26 00:16:22 UTC
Using nautilus 2.8.2-r1 it behaves better than before. When I delete the file (having it previously selected and pressing "del" key while the mouse is above it), the song continues playing, but as soon as I move the mouse to other part of the window, the song stops.

Anyway if I don't move the mouse out of the nautilus folder, or don't move it in any way, the song continues playing. I think it's better than when I reported the bug, but not completelly solved.

Perhaps the fix is not so trivial, needing fam to report the player that the file was moved/deleted or something similar.

is this problem any better in 2.10 ?
Comment 6 John N. Laliberte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-15 17:31:13 UTC
no response from reporter if the problem has been fixed in 2.10, please re-open
if its still an issue.

Thanks!
