Currently, I am an official mirror for the gentoo-portage software tree. I would like to be able to offer the gentoo software tree to the people who make use of my server locally.

Welcome to the Department of Computer Science at Memorial University. 
 
Server name:  rsync3.ca.gentoo.org 
              mirror.cs.mun.ca 
 
Server IP:    134.153.48.2 
 
Server Specs: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2100+ CPU with 1GB RAM and 550G disk 
              repository. 
 
Bandwidth:    This server can be accessed through two links. The first being 
              a 10Mb commercial off campus link and the second is 1Gb which 
              connects us to other Universities which use CaNET. 
 
User Connection Limit: set to 20 
 
Server Location: Currently, it is being housed at the Department of Computer 
                 Science, Memorial University, St. Johns, NL, Canada.

You already have access to rsync1.us.gentoo.org, and are in the .ca rotation. Thanks for helping out!

Hi Jeffrey,

I would like to be able to offer the same gentoo packages as ftp.snt.utwente.nl. At the present time I am only offering the Gentoo Linux Portage tree and would like to offer the Gentoo Linux Distribution (which contains the livecds and tar balls of the various stages). 

When I use the following command 

#rsync -aHvn rsync1.us.gentoo.org::
entoo-rsync.afn.org (flick.nerdc.ufl.edu)
Service provided by the Open Systems Group at the University of Florida.

I only get to choose the Portage tree. Do I have to visit another server to get access to the other tree?

Please follow instructions on http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/source_mirrors.xml so that you can begin mirroring the rest of our distribution. Then comment on this bug with a URL and I will add you to our listing. Thanks for helping out!

Hi, 

I followed the instrutcions as indicated on the web page you referenced. As well to get the ball rolling I started the first rsync from www.ibiblio.org and the next rsync should start at 4:00pm *NDT). 

Please add ftp://ftp.cs.mun.ca/pub/mirror/gentoo to the list of available mirrors. Thanks.
