Just upgraded to skype 4, microphone died

Had to revert to skype 2 to get it working.  I even did that v4l preload thing and it didn't work.

You have to realize skype is a binary-only package. The maintainers know about the package as much as the users do. Thus, you need to provide way more information for this to go anywhere. Even the basic `emerge --info` is missing. 

I'm closing this pending on some information to go on with the bug, otherwise I recommend you to file bugs to the upstream tracker here:

FYI .. this was a problem for me also .. three potential microphone inputs .. had to trun all on and all boost  related levels .. including capture(record) in order to get microphone sound  .. it is really a sound card control setting issue .. don't let skype manage sound levels ..

but skype (version 2) also had the same issue :(  ..

Newer version of skype fixes this bug.

I'm closing to ease the burden on the maintainers.
