Description poletti.marco 2012-05-28 06:59:02 UTC
The bash completion installed by app-office/libreoffice doesn't work for files/directories with spaces.

See Bug 417717 for more details.

Well then write a patch or report a bug upstream.

The file is provided by them, but I dont think i will have time to work on this anytime soon as it is not exactly highest priority issue.

A patch for /usr/share/bash-completion/libreoffice

I wrote a patch (see attachment).

Thanks for the patch, but sadly this completion file is generated during build by libreoffice.

Could you look bit into the lo package itself and patch the generating script to produce the correct completion file?

A patch for the libreoffice sources

This patch applies the change to the libreoffice sources rather than the installed system.
HOWEVER, I'm not able to reproduce the problem with the current libreoffice sources, so I'm closing this bug as OBSOLETE and I don't think we should send that patch upstream, because I can't reproduce problems with spaces in the current completion. I guess something may have changed since I originally found the bug, either in libreoffice or in bash/bash-completion.
I attach the patch just in case some problems show up, so that we can try applying it to see it they get fixed this way.
