As described here https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=29744
It's not possible to use connect with proxy over SSL.
Patch provided in this bug was committed by upstream in r813178 to Apache 2.3, so we will see it in Apache 2.4 but not in 2.2.

Connect with proxy over SSL is used by proxytunnel: http://dag.wieers.com/howto/ssh-http-tunneling/ 

This patch works without any problems with apache 2.2.21.
Please add it to the gentoo patch set for apache.

this is fixed in 2.4.18
