The net-im team (which is just me at the moment) is working on a split of jabber-server into jabberd and it's individual transports as separate packages. We'll look at this bug after the split is complete, hopefully within the week.
This is not a nice fix, but you can grab the file from http://student.dei.uc.pt/~gustavo/msn-transport-1.2.8pre5.tar.gz
