Created attachment 283853 [details] original ebuild I am including the patch to enable support for multiple keyboard layouts using switching on "hotkey" release. This has been tested with xorg-server-1.10.3 and has been verified as working by I and other users (freenode users: youagree godmachine-x6). Would like for other people to test this, and for developers to consider this as a default patch. *Buntu includes this patch by default, and most new users who keyboard layout switching on hotkey release features may have trouble finding the right solution to this. Attached is the edited ebuild for xorg-server-1.10.3 along with the patch. The only part edited in the ebuild is line #115 adding the line: ${FILESDIR}"/xorg-server-xkbactions.patch to the patches section. So users should be able to add the included patch to x11-base/xorg-server/files/ and add the above to snippet to their preferred xorg-server-X.X.X.ebuild under the PATCHES section.

*** Bug 379827 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
If I understand correctly, upstream decided to not accept this patch after one user got all pissy on the fdo bug.
well someone closed the wrong bug this one 379825 was suppose to have been closed due to some mistakes I had in the description, instead they closed 379827 which was the bug report I had with the details fixed properly.. Oh well guess people can look at bug 379827 if they want to see those changes..
The description of the bug can be changed by clicking on "edit" next to it. When bugs are marked as duplicates, the newer one is usually marked as duplicate of the older one.
(In reply to comment #5) it wasn't just description that was changed, it was the contents too... I was already aware of the "edit" but, however there is no edit for the comments once you have posted them, or am i just blind and overlooking it somewhere? haha. thanks
(In reply to comment #5) Well I should have worded that different All I see that I can edit is the "summary" and the sections the bug is filed in, but the actual description of the bug doesn't allow me to change it anywhere that I can tell, only add a new comment.. That was the reason for me opening the new bug 379827.. If I could have found the way to edit the actual description and the names of the files I attached, I would have had no reason for creating the new bug :)
