When I try to load kxconfig from KDE Control Center --> Peripherals --> X Display it dies after few seconds. I tried to recompile it 3 times. This is the output when I call it from the console: KXFreeConfig(): config file '/etc/X11/XF86Config' kxconfig: KXFreeConfig::loadConfig(): '' kxconfig: found input device section! kxconfig: found input device section! kxconfig: [Acer AL712] kxconfig: [Acer AL712] kxconfig: 24-80 kxconfig: 56-75 kxconfig: KXFreeConfig::parseMonitor(): Adding monitor to database kxconfig: Vendor: [Acer AL712] kxconfig: unknown vendor Unknown kxconfig: found screen section kxconfig: parseDisplay: 8, 1280x1024/74Hz & 800x600 & 640x480, (0,0) kxconfig: parseDisplay: 16, 1280x1024/74Hz & 800x600 & 640x480, (0,0) kxconfig: parseDisplay: 24, 1280x1024/74Hz & 800x600 & 640x480, (0,0) kxconfig: found input device section! kxconfig: found keyboard section kxconfig: found keyboard model pc104 kxconfig: found layout us kxconfig: found input device section! kxconfig: found mouse section :-) kxconfig: found protocol node! kxconfig: protocol appears to be ps/2 kxconfig: device appears to be /dev/psaux kxconfig: Default config file: /usr/kde/3.1/share/apps/kxconfig/XF86Config-4.default kxconfig: Probed config file : kxconfig: Loaded config file : kxconfig: Save config file : /etc/X11/XF86Config kxconfig: kxdata.h:110: void KXPointerModel::chk() const: Assertion `d->m_kxshared_valid' failed. strange error. I don't see anything on the bugs.kde.org site, but it looks like a problem is probably a bug in the code itself. May want to file a bug there as well to see if they know how to fix it.
