Description Adrian 2010-10-06 05:27:44 UTC
After opening lxmusic and trying to play a file the application crashes. The gui does not minimise to the system tray but just closes completely and I am unable to reopen the gui by running lxmusic again. However the music still plays and I am able to change songs etc using nyxmms2.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open lxmusic
2.Add files to playlist
3. Click on play button in toolbar

Actual Results:
Music begins to play, but the lxmusic gui disappears and no system tray icon appears.

Expected Results:
Gui will minimize to tray, allowing the the selection of the next/previous songs from the menu there, or reopening the gui as desired.

The error occurs when compiling lxmusic with -O2 in CFLAGS.
I am unable to replicate the problem when compiling with -O1 in CFLAGS,

Patch to allow lxmusic-0.4.4 to work when compiled under -O2

Prevent segmentation fault by checking the return value of xmmsv_get_dict and not calling xmmsv_get_int if it fails.

But this still does not solve the problem of why xmmsv_get_dict fails when compiled using -O2 and not when using -O1.
Comment 5 Hanno Böck gentoo-dev 2016-09-14 10:59:37 UTC
Looking at the current code (0.4.7) it seems the return value of these functions is checked now. So I hope this is resolved.

If this is still an issue please re-open, but it should probably better be reported upstream.
