Description Sean P. Kane 2002-06-04 19:40:40 UTC
This ebuild needs a new category added to portage called dev-ocaml.

LablGL is is an Objective Caml interface to OpenGL. Support is included for use
inside LablTk, and LablGTK also includes specific support for LablGL.

It can be used either with proprietary OpenGL implementations (SGI, Digital
Unix, Solaris...), with XFree86 GLX extension, or with open-source Mesa. Here is
the README for the current version.

updated ebuild file - includes documentation

This updated the .ebuild file in the tar. I added the documentation, which I
forgot in the first one.

Not dead yet. This ebuild has been postponed as it is selected to be run through
our new ebuild submission system. I've run it through a few times, and it
produces various errors; we need help with how well the reported error messages
are and how well the ebuild submission system works in general.

It will take another few days before I can give you more details, as we need to
plug the submission system into bugzilla.

Ok, let me know if I can help.

Yes, you can. I'm currently waiting for the new build system to be hooked into
bugzilla (I'm not a perlite, so I've asked another guy to do that part).

In the meantime, it'd be most excellent if you could
1) Read http://www.gentoo.org/~karltk/projects/munchie/submission-guide.html
2) Get the eball I packaged for your submission at
http://www.gentoo.org/~karltk/projects/munchie/submissions/labl-1.0.zip
3) Get the latest munchie from http://www.gentoo.org/~karltk/projects/munchie/
4) Run the eball through munchie, fix any bugs you notice and when it all seems
to work perfectly, attach the fixed eball to this bug, along with any comments
about the process/tool/documentation that you notice.
Comment 6 Sean P. Kane 2002-08-05 17:28:50 UTC
Karl, I did what you said and had a few problems. I had to update the Munchie
script a bit to get it to work at all. It never seemed to copy the .zip file to
the temp/munchie/work dir. Then I modified the link to point to my lintool and
still no luck. Missing the --formatter from lintool. I did an emerge rsync and
then emerge gentoolkit, and the new lintool still has no --formatter option. Is
this a personal or masked verion of lintool? Also, I'm uploading a better zip
package then the one you have on your site. So, you may want to update your
collection from the file here.

Thanks,
Sean

Comment 8 Sean P. Kane 2002-08-05 17:35:58 UTC
Bug 5966 seems to be a slightly updated version of the ebuild. Is the category
going to end up being dev-ocaml or dev-ml. If dev-ml I should likely make a few
updates to the ebuild. Maybe we should grab the ebuild from the other bug and
test against that?
Comment 9 Karl Trygve Kalleberg (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-08-07 21:20:16 UTC
I think we go for dev-ml. We have already dev-lisp, where not all of the
packages are mutually compatible, so getting into the same pickle with dev-ml
will at least make us consistent :)

If you have the time to whip up a new eball with the ebuild from #5966, then
test with munchie 1.2 or later (to be uploaded tomorrow), that'd be great.
