This is an ebuild for "normalize", an audio file volume normalizer. This is an 
extremely useful program for putting together "mix" CD's, for ensuring uniform 
volume in XMMS, etc. For details, see

The ebuild is attached. Nothing spectacular, but a little note on the 
dependencies: 
 
The "audiofile" and "mad" dependencies are NOT actually 
*required*, they are optional, but I could not find (by looking at the 
developer docs in gentoo.org) any appropriate USE variables to make them 
dependent upon. In any case, the libraries are quite small, so it does not 
seem to be that big a deal to force installation of them.
