Description Adriano Dal Bosco 2010-05-26 05:53:03 UTC
Hi

Please find attached gstat-2.5.1.ebuild and some patches with some minor corrections in the Makefile and in the code.

Gstat is a command line yet powerful program for multivariable geostatistical modelling. It is useful for prediction and simulation in GIS, covering a wide range of methods, such as, but not limited to ordinary, simple and universal kriging. It interfaces well with GRASS GIS and can create new maps directly into the GRASS database from the results of predictions. It can also read from and write to a variety of formats.

Although there is an R package that can be installed directly from R, the stand-alone command line utility is useful for people that need to use the software from outside R.

I suggest sci-geosciences/gstat. For PCRaster support, libcsf is necessary.
The ebuild for this library will be submitted shortly.

Regards,
Adriano

Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild
submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely
manner. There are simply too many new packages.

Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The
sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to
commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry
into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this
and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =)

Thanks,
On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team,
Markos.
