Description Richard 2010-05-20 21:43:58 UTC
It would be nice to have a sys-flash use flag to facilitate beta testing of new versions of flash in chromium.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

I recently posted an ebuild for flash www-plugins/adobe-flash-10.1.53.38 in bug #294003 and I would like to use it with chromium, but I cannot because the latest version of chromium is bundling its own flash. It would be nice if chromium had a USE flag that would make chromium use the system flash.

Chromium doesn't ship with integrated Flash. Google Chrome does.

If you see a /usr/lib/chromium-browser/... path in about:plugins, that's because there's a symlink it chromium's directory to the system's plugins directory.

When I checked this, I had chromium open and assumed that since flash was not in use, any new tab that used flash would use the latest one from the hard drive. Apparently, this assumption was wrong. Sorry for the false report.
