The file, /etc/hotplug/usb/ezusbmidi.usermap from this package seems incorrectly formatted. When starting hotplug, the errors: modules.usbmap unparsable line modules.usbmap unparsable line spew of ENV again and again as reported in Bug 28115 occurs. Note hotplug still functions with the midisport, it's just messy looking. It can be fixed by replacing "ezusbmidi.usermap" in this ebuilds ${FILESDIR} with the attachment, which is actually in the package. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge usbmidi 2. /etc/init.d/hotplug start/restart 3. copious output of env variables and functions Expected Results: * Starting USB and PCI hotplugging... [ ok ]
Created attachment 19833 [details] ezusbmidi.usermap Here's the file. It goes in media-sound/usbmidi/files
Guys, anybody else that have hardware like this, or less load audio/kernel side? Else I will take it, but it may be a while to get to it ...
*** Bug 28115 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
What version of hotplug are you seeing these errors for? Have you tried the latest version?
this old bug was for hotplug version 20030501-r2 as reported in Bug 28115. Using hotplug-20040401, everything is fine.
And how about the latest version, sys-apps/hotplug-20040923 ?
yep, sys-apps/hotplug-20040923 works fine too
Great, then this is fixed, right?
