Although I re-emerged kde-base/solid-4.4.2 and kde-base/solid-runtime-4.4.2 as suggested in the KDE bug report (please see URL) - the issue still appears. Now I'm wondering whether it is a Gentoo issue instead ... Reproducible: Always
Hmm, works fine here (4.4.2)... ?

Could you please rebuild kinfocenter with FEATURES="keeptemp" and attach your build log of the version without cpuinfo? Then I can compare...

Maybe a stupid question, but: * does the tab "Information about the processor" not appear in the list of modules on the left side, * or does it appear, but the page that it displays is empty?

Works fine really. Is your consolekit/policykit running properly?
Aaand also hal needs to be running.
Since today the info is shown - didn't changed the KDE version hoewver recompiled some packages with same version than installed version but changed ebuild. No change to hal, consolekit etc were done, all of these services are up and running. BTW : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=222671#add_comment
OK lets wait for some enlightenment on the upstream bug then.
Upstream says this is complex to solve, and ... "Unfortunately this is a feature and will not make it until 4.6"
