Description Seemant Kulleen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-05-28 20:37:36 UTC
Hi Sherman and Grant,

A new user was trying to mke2fs per the install document, but kept getting
memory errors. It was pointed out in #gentoo that he should swapon first.
After doing that, mke2fs went smoothly. Note that he had 512MB of RAM already,
so it is strange anyway. Either ways, should the install doc be adjusted for
this case?

added this as a note into install.xml

I changed this in the order of the documentation too. This way if they follow
directions they won't encounter this problem. I always activate the swap right
after I create it, anyway.
