I've fond a patch for evrouter to correctly detect GTK2 window title, thou it's for 0.3.3 version, I've tested with 0.4 version and it's works great. I've made evrouter-0.4-r1.ebuild from evrouter-0.4.ebuild in sunrise and tested on my system. I'm by no means a developer and/or ebuild writer, I've just taken few strings from "sys-apps/man" and "converted" diff to patch as it's stated needs to be made on SunriseFaq wiki. I do hope I didn't misunderstood anything, I tried to follow SunriseFaq guidelines.
Created attachment 216668 [details] ebuild with patching added.
Created attachment 216669 [details, diff] the patch for which evrouter-0.4-r1.ebuild was made.
Hi, We don't understand if you want to submit these changes yourself, or you want for someone in sunrise to do it. If the first is the one, I invite you to read the HowToCommit doc and join #gentoo-sunrise. Otherwise, I don't mind committing this for you.

You missed one important word between "if" and "could"... So, I still don't know if you want to do it. Eitherway, you should come to #gentoo-sunrise so that you can tell us what does the patch do, so the devs in the channel can approve the commit. I don't know how to test this, since I don't use this package.
I'm sorry for not been clear. It would be very nice of you if you would submit these changes to sunrise overlay. Abut changes: evrouter have ability to distinguish between windows so that by pressing button, configured in it's config, it'll provide different reaction based on window title, resource name of window or window class name, you can easily test it by just installing it from sunrise overlay using current version (0.4) and in terminal giving following command: evrouter -d /dev/input/event* this command will force evrouter to stay in foreground and dump all key presses it capture in terminal in a form suitable for it's config. But currently any key press in any GTK2 window, for example Firefox, will produce empty strings in window title, resource name of window and window class name. Compiling using provided ebuild (0.4-r1) and running same command will produce all strings correctly and so you can now use the functionality of different reaction depending on window currently active. About coming to IRC, I have accesses to Internet only at work and IRC is closed here with firewall.
well such patch should go to upstream, not in portage/sunrise. did you contact author of evrouter to include it into new version of evrouter?
I've posted in his/her blog, but it seems he/she isn't really active at all for a long time. So I'm in great doubt that there is such thing like upstream for this program currently. :)
