The unicode letter U+02C8 is shown with a lot of spacing to the right of it. It should be horizontally centred and have no considerable spacing to the left or right. This affects the following fonts on my system: AR PL UKai CN, AR PL UKai HK, AR PL UKai TW, AR PL UKai TW MBE, AR PL UMing CN, AR PL UMing HK, AR PL UMing TW, AR PL UMing TW MBE. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. You can see it in for example the character map application. U+02c8 is shown in the script group "common". 2. 3. Actual Results: The letter has a lot of blank space to the right of it. Expected Results: There should be no space to the right, or at least the letter should be symmetrical.
I found a workaround: Hard-mask media-fonts/arphicfonts-0.2.20080216.1. Now I am using media-fonts/arphicfonts-0.1.20060928, this version is unaffected by the bug.
This workaround does no longer work. media-fonts/arphicfonts-0.2.20080216.1-r2 is the only remaining version in the gentoo tree. Is there a newer version available from upstream? Does upstream know about the spacing problem? I doubt that we can do anything in the ebuild here.
What do we do here then? last-rite?
