Description Marcus Becker 2009-12-01 17:41:39 UTC
I noticed today, that cmake likes curl with gnutls USE flag compiled. Apparently this use flag is not set in the default/linux/amd64/10.0/desktop profile

That resulted in depclean not working properly:

Calculating dependencies... done!
 * Dependencies could not be completely resolved due to
 * the following required packages not being installed:
 *
 *   >=net-misc/curl-7.16.7[gnutls] pulled in by:
 *     dev-util/cmake-2.8.0

After compiling net-misc/curl with gnutls USE flag it works fine

So either the dev-util/cmake or the profile needs to be changed

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -DupvN world
2. emerge -p --depclean
3.

Actual Results:

This is not our fault, we don't have to enable any extra USE flag in desktop profile for fixing this (it would simply hide the problem since all people would get libcurl built with gnutls even not needing it)

Maybe portage could give a hint about what to do (instead of simply fail) when a built-time depend was built with unproper USE flag (this wouldn't occur with RDEPENDs since they are calculated by default when running "emerge -uDN world"
Comment 2 Zac Medico gentoo-dev 2010-01-03 20:34:50 UTC
It's actually a RDEPEND since cmake-2.8.0.ebuild sets RDEPEND=${DEPEND}:

Ups, yes, sorry
