After a recent world update, the OSD in mplayer stopped working. At the first try, mplayer crashed with this error: The fontconfig option can't be used in a config file. Error parsing option fontconfig=1 at line 132 When I commented out this and the following two lines (which gave errors without the fontconfig option), mplayer runs, but without OSD, subtitles, etc. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Agreed. Had exactly the same problem with mplayer-1.0_rc2_p20090731, but things work fine with mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20091026-r1. I think mplayer<1.0_rc4_p20091026-r1 should be masked because of this. However, 1.0_rc4_p20091026-r1 required media-libs/x264-0.0.20091021 which is still marked ~amd64.
