Description Rick Jenkins 2009-10-16 20:28:49 UTC
Following the update to xorg-1.6 (latest stable) and using kernel 2.6.31-gentoo-r2 and xf86-video-intel with KDE 3.5.10 (latest stable), the KDE screensaver produces a jazzy pattern of unsynchronised scanning with black, red, and white stripes. This occurs regardless of screensaver setting, the "blank screen" produces the same pattern as any other I've tried.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run KDE
2. Become inactive until the screensaver starts

Actual Results:
Observe unsynchronised screen pattern

Expected Results:
Blank screen or synchronised image, according to selection

Do you still have this problem with current kde-4 and xorg-1.7?
Comment 2 Rick Jenkins 2010-04-30 21:31:54 UTC
I found KDE4 so broadly dysfunctional that I changed to Gnome for work. I'm very happy with Gnome, it is solid and gives considerably higher performance. After work this evening I'll run up the current KDE4 with xorg-1.7 and check this out.

No info for a long time. Not in tree anymore. Resolving.
