Description Atanas Kamburov 2009-10-08 17:13:34 UTC
I have an IBM thinkpad x31.
I ripped the liveDVD 10.0 image on a USB stick using dd, then booted with it by selecting gentoo-nofb and the boot hangs on the message "Scanning for wd7000...".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.boot liveDVD (the USB variant of it)
2.
3.

Actual Results:
boot hangs

Expected Results:
boot doesn't hang

if you don't need that module just boot with 'gentoo noload=wd7000' and report back. also attach 'lspci' output.

Also encountered this problem on my Compaq Evo N620c - looks like the same problem as #252635 - wd7000 does not cause the bug, its pata_qdi - noload=pata_qdi solved the problem here
