Description Sergi 2003-09-04 13:33:54 UTC
People with gentoo have errors when connecting to any server, because
punkbuster stay in /opt/americasarmy/System/pb, if run the game as root it
works, but as normal user not work. I think that when the game run as a normal
user, need to make a copy of System directory to users game directory
(~/.armyops190/)

thanks for all

I'll look into it, but it appears this is an upstream problem. I might end up modifying the ebuild to automatically "fix" the Punkbuster version, but there is no way to know what your UID is on the system to copy the files to your home directory at installation. This is a low priority item, so don't expect me to make any changes unless it is changed upstream (or I can find some time.)

Hm.

I did anything there, but I now have the following problem:

I get out from the server at some time I don't know why.
It's happening automatically.

I can log in, no troubles, but I get logged out.

What's wrong here?

Maybe you are able to support a script which we have to run as user, so it
does the things for us?

I'd support a script easily if someone were to write one. As it stands right
now this is a problem with the upstream package and not really a major dilemma.
Also, the punkbuster files do NOT have to be update don a per-user basis.
You can easily update the versions that are installed globally.

I'm setting this to RESOVED-UPSTREAM sicne it is an upstream problem and has been fixed in the AA 2.0 beta (soon to be released).
