After update to 4.2.4 version, after I login I get only empty desktop. No windows manager or other things. Although I hear startup sound. 

Reproducible: Always

Same for me here. Really strange since I even tried to downgrade to 4.2.3, but still the same error, no matter whether I use kdeprefix or not.

Tracked down that this is related to video drivers. Seems that kdm crashes before login, and after crash, X server is started again, and I have to relogin, but this time there is only software rendering. Everything works fine with xdm.

Need More Info. Video drivers, backtrace of kdm, .xsession-errors, everything.
"Stuff crashes" is unfortunately not enough to diagnose a problem.
