the comment why the openoffice packages are masked is "because they need testing". Well, then don't mask them but give them the ~arch keyword, so people can test it. I understand that there are additional problems with the source packages, but openoffice is slightly beyond what i want my old pentium to compile and the binaries are working rather good. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Well I think that rc3 could possibly be unmasked. It is close enough to what is to become the final 1.1.0 release to be regarded stable. But normal pollicy is only to offer stable packages. The openoffice release candidates (and beta packages) were not stable upstream, that's why they are masked. Also the release candidates come fairly fast, and people probably don't want to compile all rc's when they come out. I'll think some more about unmasking rc3, but 1.1 will come soon and will surely not be masked
in fact, 1.1 final is now out
I'll be working on an 1.1.0 ebuild so hang on
