Thanks for reporting this bug. Could you attach the output of emerge --info? I can't duplicate this error.
Comment 2 Douglas Anderson 2009-05-12 02:27:12 UTC
Also, did you get different output with gentoolkit-0.2.4*?
Comment 3 sl 2009-05-12 13:15:50 UTC
gentoolkit-0.2.4.3 is OK. it list all my 4 gcc correctly(2 native, 2 cross).
This bug affect both amd64 and i686 arch. and with single cross compiler.

If I remove the cross-i686-pc-linux-gnu directory from /var/db/pkg/, it run fine.
sl64 pkg # mv cross-i686-pc-linux-gnu/ /
sl64 pkg # equery list gcc
 * Searching for gcc ...
 * installed packages:
[I--] [ ~] sys-devel/gcc-4.3.3-r2 (4.3)
[I--] [ ~] sys-devel/gcc-4.4.0 (4.4)
sl64 pkg # mv /cross-i686-pc-linux-gnu .
sl64 pkg # equery list gcc
 * Searching for gcc ...
!!! Invalid CPV: '=['cross-i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-4.3.3-r2', 'cross-i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-4.4.0']'
sl64 pkg #

In order to prevent emerge --depclean remove cross compiler, I add thos cross compile into world (emerge -u cross-i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc). This maybe the source of problem.

I guess this can happen only because SLOT changes randomly at runtime and breaks stuff. USE=multislot is a severe QA violation and is masked for some time now. There's no reason to expect people to support it in any way.
