@Arfrever, did anyone from the x11 team ACK the bump or did you just do that on your own? The reason I've been holding it back is that 0.15 is a _complete_ refactoring which lead, among others, to major bugs and performance slowdowns, with varying results across different arches. The _least_ I wanted to do was to put it in the overlay first and see how it would go. So please, in any case, come talk to us on IRC or through bugzilla before doing things which you happen to think are fine but may have dramatic consequences. X is not a toy we get to play with. Thanks
It seemed that the maintainers only didn't have time to fix this bug...
Please come ask us next time. Pixman is an extremely sensitive part of the X stack and this release series has had major changes. We were all waiting for the code to stabilize a bit before putting it in portage. Not all bugs have the same priority. If you want to do this sort of bumps, please come talk to us and we'll gladly give you access to the x11 overlay where these experimental releases are more than welcome. Thanks
So is pixman-0.15.20 staying ~arch in portage tree or not?
Tomas has had reports of 10% performance hits with 0.15.20 (x86 and amd64), but no breakage. We'll keep it in portage unless the performance hit is too big for most users. Cheers
