Description Frank Van Damme 2009-04-03 12:49:10 UTC
Some keyboards have a button that shows a context menu. If you press it while in an input field (like the user name field), a context menu will show up (even if a right mouse click doesn't). You can press escape to make it disappear, but it leaves a nasty stain.

Reproducible: Always

Why would this have anything to do with gnome ? It looks like a xorg-server or X driver bug nothing less, nothing more.

Please provide emerge --info and which version of xorg-server, libX11 and mesa you are using. Also which video driver (and version) are you using.
Comment 4 Frank Van Damme 2009-04-03 13:24:35 UTC
Makes sense.

media-libs/mesa-7.4
x11-libs/libX11-1.1.5
The video chip is an Amd Geode LX
x11-drivers/xf86-video-geode-2.10.1

Comment 5 Frank Van Damme 2009-04-03 13:31:05 UTC
x11-base/xorg-server-1.4.2
Comment 6 Rémi Cardona (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-04-03 13:48:07 UTC
Please upgrade to xorg-server 1.5.3 as 1.4.2 is no longer supported (by us nor upstream).

Don't hesitate to reopen this bug once you've upgraded.

Thanks
