Created attachment 177302 [details, diff] somewhat related patch against emacs-cvs even if ispell was prefix-aware, emacs would still need patching. all this does is add $EPREFIX everywhere. there's no look(1) in prefix, and if all of those paths should be checked can be argued about. Only posting this here so it doesn't get lost on my hdd.
probably need to delete the lines that specify paths for EGREP, etc. The solaris and darwin specific files just don't define them either.
