After installation of Gentoo 2008.0-r1 amd64 (livecd-amd64-installer-2008.0-r1.iso) there is no /boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz file.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot from amd64 2008.0-r1 LiveCD.
2. Install system from it.
3. Boot installed system. While booting there is a black screen. After 30 seconds of timeout of manual <Enter> system boots normally.




After manual installation of media-gfx/grub-splashes (which is masked by amd64 keyword) and editing /boot/grub/menu.lst (splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/play_gentoo.xpm.gz) there is no problem.
