Description Jared Kidd 2008-10-25 10:14:33 UTC
When an SD card is inserted into the computer's SD slot the two errors (shown in linked image) pop up and the volume is not mounted.
One error about a wrong mount option and another error about dbus.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.insert SD card
2.These two errors pop up and card is NOT mounted
3.Can still click on icon to mount and open card manually (gnome/nautilus)

Actual Results:
Card is mounted manually and mounts fine. It does this with every SD card I have, both ext3 formatted and vfat.

Expected Results:
The card should normally mount with no error messages and be ready to use.

don't know what's going on. Did you rebooted since upgrading gvfs ? Also, is it a SD card that gets into a camera ? If so you might want to activate gphoto2 support in gvfs.

Sorry for not responding earlier. Shame it was marked as resolved. I am thinking there is a simple thing that will fix this....

When I insert any SD card it does it regardless of the filesystem of the card. In the computer of nautilus view it always shows two icons for the SD card; one is a normal external drive icon that will report those error messages about not being able to mount it when I click on it, the other is an icon of an SD card that will mount it and open it when it is clicked on.

Maybe there are just two rules to the sc slot that got left behind on an upgrade once? Where can I remove it if it's there?
Comment 6 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-04-26 17:54:40 UTC
maybe this has to do with hal. I can't really say as I don't have a laptop with a sc card reader even though when I had one it worked just fine.
Comment 7 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-05-17 18:51:09 UTC
could you please attach the information your snapshot is referring too (logs, ...)
Also what happens when using gnome-mount /dev/mmcblk1 ?
Comment 8 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-09-10 23:35:08 UTC
please get us ~/.xsession-errors and any errors that might be in /var/log/messages.
Also the output of lshal -l would probably help in figuring out why you are seeing two drives.
