Similar bug is described in http://www.mail-archive.com/uclibc@uclibc.org/msg01862.html this bug is made by portage. (call make in subdirectory -> ignore dependencies) Solution is similar, for example call make pregen I'm curently looking for best and simplest solution

Thank you for the update. However chances are both iconv/pregen are going to be dropped from the ebuild as well being phased out upstream. It's just too broke.
