Description Dominique Michel 2008-09-21 15:11:10 UTC
the configure script fail at the java step.

I try to set ~amd64 to sys-libs/db.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge --update --deep --newuse -a world
or
1. emerge db

I try to set ~amd64 to sys-libs/db for the same result with db-4.6.21_p3-r1.
Actual Results:
configure: creating ./config.lt
config.lt: creating libtool
rm: cannot remove `libtoolT': No such file or directory
checking SOSUFFIX from libtool... .so
checking MODSUFFIX from libtool... .so
checking JMODSUFFIX from libtool... .so
checking if /opt/sun-jdk-1.6.0.07/bin/javac works... configure: error: The Java compiler /opt/sun-jdk-1.6.0.07/bin/javac failed (see config.log, check the CLASSPATH?)

GENTOO_VM=sun-jdk-1.6  CLASSPATH="" JAVA_HOME="/opt/sun-jdk-1.6.0.07"

Expected Results:
That emerge did succes.

Comment 1 Dominique Michel 2008-09-21 15:27:38 UTC
I am in the middle of a fresh install. I try a few things because this really block me:

1) to put ~amd64 to sys-devel/libtoll. Same result.
2) to add ~amd64 to sys-libs/db. The 2.2 version did it fine, but emerge world want to reinstall 4.6.21_p3-r1 too (fail with the same error.
3) I removed ~amd64 for libtool and db as well that the java USE flag (in make.conf, maybe an overkill maybe not). And emerge world did it.

Sorry, but I removed the directory in /var/tmp and I cannot reproduce it because portage is working just fine with db-4.5.20_p2-r1 now, and that with USE="java" or USE="-java".

I don't know what happened. Maybe some java config that was not done in an earlier step of this fresh install.

But for me it still does not work, but on x86. emerge -uavd world gives following output

For me too. Thanks a lot!
