smarteiffel is neat. this version fixes many ``boogs''. also, i do not understand why se has been masked for so long. i do not have an ebuild for it. please ask if you want me to make one. a note to whoever makes the ebuild: se comes with it's own special installer, which must be dealt with (as can be seen in the 1.0 ebuild). second, according to the changelog for se, the installer has been significantly changed. cheers. Hi McCary Thanks for an update note. Well, submitting an ebuild will definitely help to speed this along ;), especially considering that installer has changed. As for 1.0 still being in testing, this is probably because of a lack of test reports. Sadly we do not get much of those, even though people apparently use the stuff. Its bein a while and without any bug reports AFAIKS, so I'll go ahead and move this into stable. However hearing from you that it works fine will make me happier :). George
Hi McCary. Quite some time has passed, but I finally got to creating ebuild myself. The build system is actually not that different - just different organization of questions and package developers decided to create install directory right next to install.c (to be compiled into install binary normally). How nice of them to take a good care of Unix folks! :) Anyway, the 1.1 is in portage, please test it, as I am not sure I actually made it install all necessary components. George
Just emerged smarteiffel-1.1.ebuild for ~x86 and it appears that the ebuild emerges successfully but it doesn't build or have the binary programs "compile" and "boost" that are necessary for the compilation of eiffel files. Also, there is a 2.0 beta version of smarteiffel available at the moment and an ebuild for this would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks
Created attachment 37418 [details] smarteiffel-1.1.ebuild (corrected ebuild) Revised smarteiffel-1.1.ebuild so that it compiles all tools (compile, finder, pretty etc) correctly.
